Most solar systems include an online monitoring portal, but having access to monitoring software and actively monitoring your system are two different things.
With ilumen Solar’s Inverter Monitoring & Management service, our team regularly reviews your system’s performance while also checking for notifications, alerts, faults and other signs that something may need attention.
When an issue appears, we can investigate the system remotely, communicate with the inverter manufacturer when needed, and keep you informed about what’s happening with your solar system.

For customers participating in Illinois Shines, keeping your solar system producing isn’t just about maximizing your electric bill savings.
Solar Renewable Energy Credit agreements require participating systems to generate a specified amount of energy over the life of the agreement. Extended underproduction caused by an unnoticed equipment or communication issue can reduce the number of RECs generated and significant underproduction can potentially result in collateral drawdowns and, in more serious circumstances, repayment of a portion of previously received SREC incentive funds.
Proactive monitoring helps identify production issues sooner so they can be addressed before an unnoticed problem becomes a long-term production problem.
Already have an ilumen Solar system? Adding Inverter Monitoring & Management gives you ongoing professional oversight of your system’s performance.
You don’t have to be an existing ilumen customer to have ilumen monitor your solar system.
We can onboard qualifying third-party installations, obtain inverter monitoring access, analyze the existing system and establish the information needed for ongoing monitoring and management.

Finding a fault is only useful if someone knows what to do with it.
When ilumen identifies a notable system issue, we’ll review the available system data, investigate the alert or fault and determine whether it can be addressed remotely.
When appropriate, our team can engage directly with the inverter manufacturer for troubleshooting, settings, non-reporting equipment, firmware and other technical support. We’ll also communicate with you about significant issues and what needs to happen next.
